Dont put dots in the name variable as the awk command uses regex. pulseaudio_low_latency.sh "name" fragments fragments_sizeįor the first argument, use something in your device name in the command pactl list modules. Read -n 1 -p "Press any key when a sound is playing to test new latency"Įcho "Module not found, please change the name you input" Module=$(pactl list modules | awk "/$name/" RS="" ORS="\n\n" | grep Module | head -c 10 | tail -c 2)Įcho "Loading $name module with $frag fragments at $frag_size bytes each"Ĭard_properties="module-udev-detect.discovered=1" \ I looked around for a simple way to lower pulseaudio latency and the only correct way to do so I found was this blog post which inspired me to make this script, it is also where I took the main parameters command, although note that now fragment_size is in bytes, which wasnt the case in the post. I guess it is kinda playable with Direct3D9, if I constantly have the flashlight on, but I would appreciate if any of you guys can share a solution to this problem. But I really have no other option than to run it like this. So perhaps that mode has something to do with this issue. I solved this with the DeusExe launcher, which comes with GMDX, by selecting borderless windowed mode. With base vanilla version there was also this other issue of the game immediately minimizing itself and doing it every time I try to restore the window. The issue was present in the vanilla version, but I am running this with the GMDX mod. Other renderers produce either the same effect as software mode, or the same as OpenGL mode. I tried googling "low colors", but that didn't yield any results. I'm not even sure how to describe it or google it. But when I switch to OpenGL, the game looks like this and runs terribly (fps constantly drops between 30). When googling about these issues, most people say that you just need to switch to OpenGL as a renderer. As some of you might know, the software mode of Deus Ex has depth issues (objects clipping through other objects, etc), while the Direct3D9 mode is pretty dark and the brightness does not adjust.
